Michael Jordan’s International legacy started at the University of North Carolina under Dean Smith in 1981. His game winning shot over Georgetown in the 1982 NCAA Championship game is seen as Michael’s first major achievement. This was the start to a legendary career, the foundation of which was built at UNC. Michael never lost his love for the place that gave him his first national stage and he continually shows love to his alma mater through product releases and donations.
With the 3rd pick in the 1984 NBA draft The Chicago Bull selected Michael Jordan from the University of North Carolina.
“LEGACY”
Jordan carried with him a new level of champion pedigree never seen before in a Bulls uniform. The City of Chicago, lifted from the cellar of the NBA, would become an internationally recognized team who had the best player on the planet. UNC’s favorite son, Chicago’s new basketball titan mixed the Carolina Blue and Windy City Red right in front of our eyes every night, the layer underneath that Mike believed was critical to his dominance to six championships.
Jordan was extremely superstitious and wore his college game shorts under his Chicago Bulls uniform during this professional career.
Nigel Sylvester has built a career through cinematic content and by leveraging his creative expression as a BMX athlete. One of his main inspirations as he set out to make a name for himself was Michael Jordan. In 2018 Nigel came together with Jordan brand to release a hand-distressed sneaker to reflect the scuff marks on his Air Jordan 1's from when he rides.
The sneaker was a ground breaking release and is a major player in the recent appreciation for the aged and distressed fashion craze.
